You can wander around the park and see platypuses playing in the spring-fed ponds, surrounded by lush foliage. The Australian Platypus park is home to an incredibly healthy platypus population. The pond is surrounded by lush vegetation and a spring-fed pond that houses these wonderful creatures. The magnificent setting attracts visitors from around the world.

It’s a self guided walk to view the Platypus but we will walk you out and show you where to go and we will give you some information on how to spot the Platypus and the best spots to look. Any questions about the Platypus please feel free to ask us on the return.
Keep in mind that they are WILD animals so there is never a guarantee but with a little patience you will more then likely see them.

When is the best season to visit the Platypus?
The Australian Platypus park is open all throughout the year.
Platypus can be very active, so do not listen to anyone who says that the only or best time to observe them is in the early morning or late afternoon.

Tarzali Lakes is a great place to fish, with so many fish waiting to take your lure. You will be able boast of your fishing skills! This is a great activity for the whole family, regardless of whether they have any previous experience fishing. The equipment is provided, including burley and bait.

Bird Watching
Tarzali Lakes has over 132 bird species recorded. Take a self-guided birding tour and use binoculars. Check off all the species you find. Visitors may see Jabirus (Sea Eagles), Ospreys, Kookaburras and Kingfishers depending on the season.
