Holiday accommodation on the Gold Coast and mountain retreats to choose from. If you have kids then there are a number of resorts that will cater especially to you. A Gold Coast holiday is one of the most popular in Australia as there is so much to see and do. In its early days, the Gold Coast was about the fantastic beaches that line its coast. The luxury holiday accommodation industry got its start in the 1960s at Broadbeach when the first hotel was built right on the sand dunes of the beachfront. From these beginnings, it has grown at a furious pace to supply hundreds of apartment-style accommodation resorts and hotels that are all only a stone’s throw from one of the Gold Coasts’ many magnificent beaches.
Surfers Paradise and Main Beach are located just to the north of Broadbeach and this region has now become the heart of the Gold Coast’s holiday accommodation industry. Surfers Paradise has grown around the Cavill Avenue mall region which has become a gathering point for tourists who enjoy its restaurants and shopping plazas. There are also many attractions here like “Ripleys, Believe it or Not”. Much of the most popular holiday accommodation is within easy walking distance of both the beach and the Cavill Ave precinct.
The Southport Broadwater and the Southport spit are also popular areas to stay given their close proximity to the calm waters of the Broadwater itself as well. This is an ideal boating and fishing venue as well and if you didn’t bring your own boat a local fishing charter will certainly take you out to catch a big one.
The southern end of the Gold Coast and the Gold Coast hinterland are also extremely popular venues to find some great holiday accommodation. Places like Coolangatta, Mermaid Beach, and Burleigh Heads are all great places for a beachside holiday.
This is one of Australia’s favorite holiday destinations so make sure you book your Gold Coast holiday accommodation as early as you can.
