Sunshine Coast Backpacker Information
Tens of thousands of backpackers visit the Sunshine Coast every year to share in its fantastic activities and attractions. Most backpackers travel north from Sydney along the east coast of Australia and the Sunshine Coast is one of the major drawcards for them. The major attraction for backpackers visiting the Sunshine Coast is the fabulous beach side lifestyle coupled with reasonably priced budget accommodation.
Mooloolaba and its great beach and cosmopolitan lifestyle are always high on each backpacker’s agenda. There are hostels located close to the beach and plenty of reasonably priced restaurants and cafes. Learn to surf classes are available as well as tours to the Sunshine Coast hinterland and great attractions like Australia Zoo. Noosa is also a great drawcard for backpackers who want to soak up the wonderful holiday atmosphere. Once again there are hostels within easy walking distance of the beach and the National Park. Everyone wants to be seen at Noosa and the backpacker fraternity is no different.
Rainbow Beach, at the northern end of the Sunshine Coast has become backpacker central over recent years. There are several large hostels here as well as caravan parks and cabins. Rainbow Beach is the main jumping off point for tourists going to Fraser Island via the Inskip Point barge and many tours depart from here. Four wheel drive vehicles are also available for hire for those wanting to self drive on the island.
If you are backpacking around Australia, you wont want to miss out on the Sunshine Coast.
