What to expect
You'll leave Airlie Beach before dawn and head north in a comfortable vehicle to a quiet beach where macropods gather at first light. The guide will help you spot and understand kangaroos and wallabies whilst the sun rises over the water—ideal for photos. After watching the wildlife settle, you'll sit down to a hot bacon and egg breakfast wrap. On the drive back to town mid-morning, there's an optional pause at a local café where you can buy your own coffee or snacks. The whole outing lasts about six hours and suits any fitness level.
