Rainbow Beach is located on the southern end of the Great Sandy Straits and close to the town of Tin Can Bay. Local charter boats provide fishing charters to both the continental shelf and within the confined and calm waters of the Great Sandy Straits. Tours of The Great Sandy Strait are available from time to time and the region is one of the most superb and safest cruising areas in the world. Houseboat charters are available for you to cruise the local waters at your leisure. Bare Boat charter is also available from Tin Can Bay for those who wish to cruise in their boat for a few days or maybe a week or so. Whale-watching cruises are available from Hervey Bay.
